The well-known Bloomberg technology reporter Mark Gurman has once again made news and claimed that Apple at the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) this year is going to to unveil a new mixed reality headset. According to the statements of anonymous people familiar with this issue, Apple needed more time to deal with the hardware and software problems of this headset, and the delay was probably related to this.
This is not the first time that the introduction of this headset has been delayed, and Apple had hoped to introduce the headset at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June last year. This conference will probably be held at the end of June next year. In this regard, it is rumored that Apple’s new headset is going to be launched under the name of Reality Pro with support for the M2 chip and dual 4K display. This headset is likely to come with a set of advanced sensors, cameras and trackers for its effective operation.
Apple’s mixed reality headset is said to be able to generate a full-body avatar, and there’s a set of buttons to switch between using the real and virtual worlds! According to the information provided, Apple is going to release the new headset with a new operating system, which will probably be called xrOS. This operating system comes with support for a 3D iPhone interface and updated versions of the company’s classic apps such as email and Safari.

Users select apps by looking at them and use their fingers to launch the app. In this regard, Gorman also disclosed the possible price of this headset and Apple is likely to consider a price tag of $3000 for its headset.
Sales of virtual reality headsets in 2022 are down 12 percent year-over-year, but companies are still devoting resources to launching new products. Last year, HTC unveiled the $1,100 Vive XR Elite mixed reality headset, and the Meta Quest 3 is set to be available this year for $300-$500.
