Cadillac unveils production version of Lyriq. This version remains largely faithful to the concept model introduced last year, and the range of changes is felt to be very small. A mileage of more than 480 km with 340 hp is one of the important technical features of the first Cadillac crossover.
For Cadillac, lyricism combines a century of innovation with the beginning of a new era. In the front view, the large crystal-colored lyrical windshield, which hosts the company’s luminous logo in the middle, can be considered the main element available. Next to this sleek windshield are slim LED lights.
In the side view, the lyrics are very dynamic and exciting; Among the attractive features of this facade are the hidden door handles, beautiful 20-inch rims that can be replaced with 22-inch models if ordered by the customer, the beautiful arch of the roof and the steep slope of the rear window.
In the rear view, the special shape of the lights attracts attention more than anything else. The high height of the bumper from the ground and the volumes made on the rear door and the sides of the bumper are other notable things in this view.
The Cadillac Lyric is 4996 mm long, 1977 mm wide, 1623 mm high and has a wheelbase of 3094 mm. With such dimensions, the body length of this new electric crossover is 46 mm shorter than the XT6, but its wheelbase is 231 mm longer.
Like the new generation Sklyde, the Lyric cabin is very modern. Undoubtedly, the large 33-inch screen behind the steering wheel of the beautiful fork, which extends to the middle of the dashboard, is the most attractive element in this section. The display has an integrated structure and, according to Cadillac, can display more than a billion different colors.
The unique design of the air conditioning vents and the suspended center console are some of the interesting features of the lyric cabin. It is worth mentioning that this car also uses AKG audio system with 19 speakers, digital key technology and the next generation of active system for removing annoying noises.
Cadillac Lyric cargo volume is 793 liters. By folding down the rear seats, that number rises to 1,723 liters. The legroom of the second row occupants is 1006 mm.
The Cadillac electric crossover will initially be launched with a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery. This battery powers the electric motor mounted on the rear axle. This engine has 340 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque. There is no word yet on acceleration or speed, but Cadillac says this version of the Lyric will be able to cover a distance of about 300 miles (483 km) on a single charge.
Lyric supports fast charging technology with a maximum rate of 190 kW, and with just a 10-minute stop at the high-speed charging station, the energy needed to travel 122 km is stored in its battery. With a 30-minute charge, the car can travel up to 314 km.
For every hour of home charging with a 19.2 kW module, the energy needed to travel 84 km is stored in the lyric battery. This figure is 50 km per hour for a 11.5 kW charger. 120V sockets add only 5.6 km to the lyric range every 60 minutes.
Although the lyrics will only be available in the rear-wheel drive version at launch, Cadillac executives have confirmed that a four-wheel drive version will be available to customers in the future. This electric crossover will be equipped with a pedal drive mechanism as well as Regen on Demand technology. This technology allows the driver to adjust the deceleration speed of the car via a pedal on the steering wheel.
The supercruiser semi-automatic driving system is another important technology that Lyric will use. This system allows drivers to drive without interference on more than 321,000 kilometers of US and Canadian highways.
And but the price; Cadillac will accept customer orders for Lyric from September for $ 59,990. The green crossover will be produced in Spring Hill, Tennessee, and the order delivery process is scheduled for the second half of 2022.
It goes without saying that Cadillac intends to become an all-electric brand by 2030. Therefore, after the lyrics, this American luxury brand will introduce several other electric models. The next electric model, called Celestiq, is likely to be unveiled.
