Studio “CD Projekt Red” (CD Projekt Red) has officially confirmed that the Sirius project of The Witcher series will begin in the form of a multiplayer work again.
With the announcement of the annual financial report, CD Projekt Red officially announced that the Sirius project from The Witcher series will be resumed. This studio plans to abandon the original plan for the development of this project and open a new path for the expansion of this popular franchise.
Adam Kisinski, president and co-CEO of CD Projekt Red, said during a Q&A about the studio’s monetization status.
Sirius is a project we can now point to. This project is different from our previous works in terms of style and design. We must look for new ways to expand our franchises to stay competitive. At the same time, we must be prepared to re-evaluate our initial concepts, even as development work continues.
In early March, the studio shared an announcement from investors noting that it was taking an impairment charge on the Sirius project. Kisinski says this decision was “difficult” but “correct”. CDPR Studio plans to reduce costs early so that it has the right time to re-evaluate the said project. This studio does not want to produce projects that are not aligned with its investors.
Project Sirius is one of the three unannounced games of The Witcher series.
