Elon Musk passing Barack Obama The former president of the United States now has the most followers on Twitter. Based on the number of followers reported on their respective Twitter profiles, the billionaire currently has 133,068,709 followers on Twitter, while Obama is second with 133,041,362 followers.
In 2022, Musk acquired the social media platform Twitter in a $44 billion deal. After the acquisition, he became CEO of Twitter, adding that role to his dual duties as CEO of SpaceX and Tesla. Undoubtedly, such a deal largely led to Musk gaining the most followers on Twitter and surpassing Obama. The Twitter boss hit 100 million followers last June. After that, the number of followers of Elon Musk increased continuously.

It is interesting to note that Obama follows more accounts on Twitter than Musk. The former US president has over 500,000 followers on Twitter. While Musk has been a bit more cautious and only follows 184 people on the platform.
After Musk and Obama, Justin Bieber is the third most followed on Twitter with 113.3 million followers. In November 2022, Musk passed Bieber to take the second place on this list.
After these three people, the names of Katy Perry, Rihanna, Cristiano Ronaldo, Taylor Swift, Donald Trump, Narendra Modi, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga appear in the list respectively.
Donald Trump’s Twitter account has been suspended for some time. But after Musk took over Twitter, he reinstated her account. But Trump has not tweeted on the platform since the ban was lifted.
The current president of the United States, Joe Biden, also has 37 million followers on his personal account and 30 million followers on the presidential account.
In addition to publishing memes and general and sometimes offensive tweets, Elon Musk uses his account to inform about important Twitter changes. On his Twitter account, he has polled about some of Twitter’s major changes, such as allowing Donald Trump to return to the platform and whether he should step down as CEO.
Musk’s Twitter habits contrast with Obama, who mostly uses his account for work and professional purposes, such as promoting an important cause or highlighting some of the things he has accomplished as president. The same goes for Justin Bieber and Katy Perry.
Musk’s Twitter activity has helped build followers for the companies he leads. Sometimes, instead of using press releases, he uses Twitter as a platform to deliver news to the public. Musk often tweets important posts about Tesla and SpaceX that are seen by millions of people around the world.
