According to a report leaked by German publication WinFuture, One UI 5.1 changes will include improved stock apps, family sharing albums in the Gallery app, easier access to the Emojis AR camera app, improved Expert RAW and AR Zone, new battery widgets . In addition, users will see features such as note-taking app collaboration, improved control of other devices, and minor improvements to the Dex feature.

gallery
- Shared Family Album: Sharing photos with your family is easier than ever with the shared family album. Gallery now offers to add photos to your shared family album by recognizing the faces of family members. You also get 5GB of storage per family member (up to 6 people).
- Improved handling: Processing automatically removes shadows and reflections to make your photos look great. You can also recreate GIF animations with better resolution.
- Easily view information: If you swipe up while viewing a photo or video in your gallery, you can see details like when and where the photo was taken, where it was saved, and more.
- Advanced Search: Now you can search for more than one person or item at the same time. You can even search for people without tagging them by name, just by clicking on their face.
- Choose a location to save screenshots: Now, you can save screenshots and recorded videos from the screen to your desired folder.
AR Zone and AR Emoji
- Using 3 emojis in the AR Emoji camera: In mask mode, you can take fun photos and videos with your friends (up to 3 people). By clicking on the emoji, you can replace the faces of your friends with other characters.
- Layout and editing improvements in AR Doodle: Fonts are now available on the main AR Doodle screen for faster access. You can also resize and move maps after they are created. The new eraser also allows you to erase part of your drawings without erasing them completely.
Widgets
- New battery widget: With the new battery widget, you can check the battery level of your device. Also, right from the home screen, you can see the battery level of your smartphone, Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, and other supported devices.
- Visual Weather Widget: New visual style and summary of current weather conditions make weather awareness easier; Whether the weather is sunny or cloudy, rainy or snowy.

Connectivity
- Collaboration in Samsung Notes: You can create a shared note that several people can edit at the same time. Write reports with colleagues and take notes for a study group.
- Easier invitations to shared apps: Now you can easily invite people to shared albums, notes, and calendars using a shareable link in Messenger, email, and social networks.
- Advanced multi-controls between Galaxy Book and smartphone: Now you can use your Galaxy Book mouse, keyboard or trackpad not only with your Galaxy tablet, but also with your Galaxy smartphone. You will easily be able to copy and paste text and drag and drop images from one device to another.
- Media Output for Wi-Fi Speakers: If you want to stream music to Wi-Fi speakers via Spotify Connect and Chromecast, open Media Output from the Quick Access Toolbar. In this case, you won’t need to open music apps.

Samsung DeX
- Improved multitasking in DeX: In split screen mode, you can now drag the divider in the middle of the screen to resize both windows. You can also snap a window to one of its corners so that it occupies a quarter of the screen.
Settings
- Settings Suggestions: Suggestions are now displayed at the top of the Settings screen. This is one of the features of One UI 5.1 that allows you to be notified of useful features to try or settings that need your attention so you can immediately enable or try them.
Internet
- Improved search: You can now search by folder name in bookmarks or by group name in tabs. Improved search makes it possible for you to find what you’re looking for, even if something is misspelled.
Setup steps
- Faster and easier initial setup: If you’re moving from a Galaxy phone or other Android device to a new Galaxy phone, simply scan the QR code on your old device to automatically transfer your Wi-Fi networks, Samsung account, and Google account.
weather
- Detailed weather information at a glance: Useful weather information is now displayed on the main page of the Weather app. You can check weather alerts, daily weather reports, hourly precipitation and color temperature charts.
Bixby
Bixby Text Call: You can use Bixby Text Call to automatically answer calls and know the purpose of the call. With this feature, you’ll see what the caller is saying in the text chat, and you can tap or type responses to have them read aloud to the caller. Currently, this feature is only available for English and Korean languages.
Additional notes on One UI 5.1 features
It should be noted that the advanced multi-control feature is only available on select Galaxy devices. This app works on tablets with One UI 4.1 or later, phones with One UI 5.1 or later, and Galaxy Book series released in 2021 or later with Samsung v1.5 (Intel) or Samsung Settings v3.3 (ARM). The availability of One UI 5.1 features may vary depending on the device model. Also, in the case of media output for Wi-Fi speakers, the Wi-Fi speaker connection must be configured in advance. Windows 20H1 or later is also required to continue browsing on a PC, and the phone and Windows connection must be updated to the latest version.
Samsung is expected to roll out One UI 5.1 to most Android 13-based One UI 5.0 smartphones a few weeks after the launch of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra.
