Foxconn, the largest iPhone maker, is usually stepping up its workforce on the eve of new iPhones. The company now plans to increase the benefits of the Chinese Zhengzhou production line before the iPhone 13 goes into production.
According to reports South China Morning Post, These benefits are intended to attract new forces. Foxconn’s work benefits, which will be $ 1,158 in addition to workers’ basic wages, include those who work 90 days on the production line. The company’s goal is to attract new forces during the busy production period. This is the third increase in labor benefits in the last month and heralds Foxconn’s challenge in supplying labor on production lines.
The news of the increase in workers’ benefits comes as Foxconn announced an increase in earnings in April 2021. The company had revenue of $ 16.62 billion in April, up 31.39 percent year on year. The increase in revenue is said to be due to increased sales of the iPhone 12 series and Sony’s PlayStation 5 console.
The iPhone 12 series was introduced last year in October later than usual, and some of its models did not hit the market until November. As a result, there was less time than usual between the time of introduction and the end-of-year holiday season, so part of the flood of demand shifted to early 2021.
The iPhone 13 series, which we expect to see as usual in September, will probably have four models similar to last year, which are similar in size to the iPhone 12 series. So we have the iPhone 13 Mini with a 5.4-inch screen, the iPhone 13 with a 6.1-inch screen, the iPhone 13 Pro with a 6.1-inch screen, and the Pro Max with a 6.7-inch screen. These products will likely have a more powerful camera, a faster processor, and several other small optimizations.
