Google fines Google and Meta $ 238 million for violating cookie rules

A Google Spokesman’s description also states:

The French watchdog had previously fined Google € 100 million under European e-privacy laws and € 50 million for violating the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The internet search giant is still fighting the € 100 million fine in the French Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, Google and Meta fines in Ireland point to major tensions between the EU and Ireland, as Europe claims that Ireland is too friendly towards the headquarters of its tech giants.
