Huawei and Nokia announced the extension of the patent license agreement or the patent license agreement between both brands. Samsung transferred 98 US patents to Huawei last month. The company has transferred a total of 179 patents to Huawei. In fact, this is part of the terms of the patent agreement between the two companies.

As we said, now Huawei has signed a cooperation agreement with this company with the aim of mutual use of Nokia’s patent certificates.

Huawei has a significant share of global communications

According to reports, around 350 million 5G mobile phones and 15 million smart cars are expected to be licensed by Huawei in 2022. In addition, about 30 million broadband access terminals for home users have been licensed by this Chinese brand. These terminals account for 45% of the world’s data exchange. Despite the bans that the United States has imposed on Huawei, the brand continues to make a significant contribution to global communications. Of course, the share of this company could have been much higher, but the United States tried to ensure that this did not happen.

Huawei currently owns about 10% of the world’s 4G patents. Also, about 20 percent of 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and H.266 patents also belong to this company. In addition, it owns about 30% of OTN and 10G PON patents and about 20% of IETF patents.

The company announced that it has signed more than 20 new or renewed license agreements in 2022, covering areas such as mobile phones, smart cars, networks, the Internet of Things, and more. It also has the license to provide advanced patent technology to famous car brands including Audi, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Porsche, Renault, Suzuki, Lamborghini, Subaru and Bentley.
