American company Arcimoto unveiled an electric tricycle at Daytona Bike Week. The prototype vehicle is now known as the Roadster, and if all goes according to plan, it will enter production later this year.
The first thing that comes to mind when dealing with the Archimoto Roadster electric product is its weird and distinctive design. Of course, this distinction does not mean beauty, and in the eyes of some this vehicle may be ugly and heterogeneous!
However, the Archimoto Roadster is equipped with two seats, these seats have backs so that the passengers experience more comfort while traveling. The battery pack appears to be located under the passenger seats. There is also a small glass in the nose, which is used to guide the air flow.
According to Archimoto, the Roadster tricycle has been developed on a proprietary platform. The propulsion of this motorcycle consists of two electric motors and the front wheels are driven in it. No information is available on the output of this engine, but it will probably be the same model used in the FUV model. In this case, its production power will be 77 horsepower.
Although there is no word on powertrain specifications, Archimoto has confirmed that the Roadster is capable of reaching a top speed of 121 km / h and can travel 164 km in the city on a single charge.
Mark Frohnmayer, CEO of Archimoto Startup, made an interesting comment:
“For 80 years, some of the most amazing motorcycles on Earth have been dominating Daytona Bike Week, and most of these motorcycles draw their power from fossil fuels. “We believe it is time to breathe fresh air, so we are happy to introduce a whole new way of riding a motorcycle, a tricycle that is unlike any other on the road.”
Full details of the Archimoto Roadster will be released in the coming months. This electric three-wheeled motorcycle is pre-sold for $ 100. The production version is expected to reach customers at a price of 23,900. That’s about $ 4,000 cheaper than the Harley-Davidson Freewheeler tricycle.
Not to mention that Archimoto was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Eugene Oregon. The company is engaged in the production of electric motorcycles and light vehicles widely used in the transportation and delivery of goods.
