The head of Iran’s scientific and industrial research organization announced the construction of an advanced satellite for earthquake prediction.
The head of Iran’s scientific and industrial research organization announced that a satellite called “Ayat” is being built by Iranian scientists, which has the ability to predict earthquakes. Dr. Hossein Zamaniyan, at the meeting of legal directors of universities, higher education, research and technology centers held on the morning of February 23 at the Scientific and Industrial Research Organization of Iran, stated that this organization is entering the field of satellite activities for the first time.
In line with the development of the “Ayat” earthquake prediction satellite, despite pointing out that it is difficult to predict the time of an earthquake, Zamanian announced that with the support of the Minister of Science, scientific works that lead to solving problems will flourish soon.

He confirmed that the specialists of this organization produced a satellite named “Masbah”. This organization is going to expand the scope of its activities in the construction of satellites. Zamanian spoke about another achievement of the Scientific and Industrial Research Organization of Iran. He announced that this organization, with the help of the Iranian Red Crescent Group, intends to localize the “Fresenius” dialysis machine made in Germany. After 5 generations of dialysis machines, the said organization seeks to make a portable dialysis machine so that patients no longer need to be in hospitals and medical centers.
Zamanian continued to talk about the implementation of two scientific and technological plans in the near future. The first plan is related to Khwarazmi festival, to which a new branch titled “Technology and Innovation” will be added. This festival will be held on March 9. The second plan is related to the construction of the International Science and Technology Park of the Islamic Republic. This park can become a place for scientific exchanges in the country.
Dr. Hossein Zamaniyan said about the future status of the Scientific and Industrial Research Organization of Iran:
We have formed the council of sages, and 23 major and problem-oriented projects have been discussed in this council so that we can manage the research future of the country by carrying them out. We have estimated the direction and extension of the country’s researches and problem-oriented researches until 2050. Surveys indicate that solving climate change is in the center of attention. We will define a scientific map according to global standards.
