Johnson & Johnson, CEO of Pharmaceuticals, joins Apple’s board

مدیرعامل شرکت داروسازی جانسون و جانسون به هیئت مدیره اپل پیوست

Apple announced today that Alex Gorsky, chairman and CEO of Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals, has joined the board. He will likely help Apple advance health-related projects.

Apple CEO Tim Cook in a statement said Gorsky is a well-known figure in the field of health, and Apple will use his expertise in its projects. “Alex is a good person in the field of health and uses a comprehensive vision, experience and interest in technology to improve people’s lives and create healthier communities,” Cook said. “We are excited to congratulate him on joining the Apple Board, and I know we will all benefit from his leadership skills and expertise.”

Gorsky also said he was proud to be a member of Apple’s board and believed that technology potential could be used to improve people’s lives. “And we are constantly innovating to increase our capabilities and improve our living conditions.”

Alex Gorsky has been with Johnson & Johnson since 1988 and has worked in sales, management and marketing. He was elected CEO of the company in 2012, but is scheduled to step down as CEO on January 3, 2022. Of course, he will remain a member of the board of Johnson and Johnson.

Apple and Johnson and Johnson have worked together in the past. The two companies are currently conducting a joint study to see if the Apple Watch can detect atrial fibrillation before it becomes dangerous. Cupertinos with personal experience like Gorsky may have a more mature approach to health, but we’ll have to wait and see if the effect of his joining the Apple board will be more than a symbolic decision.
