Chinese brand Wuling, a subsidiary of General Motors, has unveiled a new pickup called the Zhengtu. What has made this pickup the subject of Western media coverage is its base price of 58,800 yuan; This figure is approximately 9 thousand dollars or 220 million tomans at the current exchange rate. For the two-cab version of the Wingo Zhengto, the price is set at 62,800 yuan, which is equivalent to $ 9,648.
Zhengto is Wooling’s first pickup truck. In terms of dimensions, this pickup has a length of 5,105 mm, and objects with a length of 2,000 mm can be placed in its cargo area. For comparison, the body of the Chevrolet Colorado is 5,713 and 5,403 mm long, depending on the room, and its cargo floor is 1,880 and 1,575 mm long.
Due to the fact that the walls of the cargo area of the gentgo are designed to be folded, it is easier to carry various objects with it than other pickups. Such a structure allows the gingo to easily carry accessories larger than the dimensions of the cargo area.
But Wolling Zhengto is not without its flaws. The design of this cheap pickup is rudimentary and from some angles it looks very inconsistent. The side view is one of them, because like most Chinese cars, the Zhengto suffers from the common problem of tiny wheels!
Inside, the Gentgo is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system. This display, or more properly the car infotainment system, supports voice commands. Below this display are three standard rotary knobs to control the audio system. Woolling claims that the Genghis is on par with passenger models in terms of cabin noise, vibration and comfort.
While world-class pickups are powered by powerful engines, the Wooling Zhengto is powered by a 1.5-liter engine with 99 horsepower! Certainly with such a weak propulsion, the Zhengto will not be able to carry heavy loads properly. Needless to say, this pickup is for the Chinese market and there are currently no plans to offer it in other countries, including the United States!
