Minister of Communications: Iran focuses on providing guaranteed space services to other countries

Isai Zarepour, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, announced that Iran is currently focusing on providing guaranteed space services to other countries in the world.

“Isa Zarepour”, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated on the sidelines of the 21st International Conference of the Iranian Aerospace Association that the 13th government looks at the aerospace industry with a strategic view. He said that the government believes that many of the country’s problems will be solved with the development of the mentioned industry.

He emphasized that every Iranian satellite placed in orbit is the pride of the nation. He confirmed that the aerospace industry is a practical and strategic industry and people should know that by launching any satellite, part of their problems will be solved.

“Zarepour” announced that the president personally directs the development of the aerospace industry and these meetings are held because the 13th government will show a strong will for the development and progress of the said industry. The Minister of Communications emphasized that the government has considered a budget for the development of the aerospace industry and good things will happen in the next year’s budget.

“Isa Zarepour” stated that the country’s space activities have been consolidated in the form of a 10-year document on the country’s space industry, and it was also approved in the last meeting of the Supreme Space Council. Yesterday (Sunday) after writing a codified letter by the president, this document was sent to all active people in this field. He then announced that the components of this document will be implemented within a period of one to two years in the field of satellite construction, infrastructure development and space stations of the country in different lines.

The Minister of Communications said that with the signing of such a document, the Supreme Space Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran now knows its duties, and the past absurd and futile activities in this field are not going to be repeated. He announced that Iran was very active in the field of space industry last year. Currently, Iran has had 6 space launches in the field of research and operation. He hopes that all scientists and people involved in the field of space industry will gather to make Iran one of the largest exporters of space services by developing the said industry. “Zarepour” believes that Iran has the necessary capacity to progress in this industry.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology added that if this industry is commercialized and provides acceptable services to other countries, we will undoubtedly see the growth of the country’s space industry in the next few years. He said that the 13th government has recognized the capabilities and capacities of Iran’s aerospace industry and that this country will soon be able to launch small light and semi-heavy satellites up to 500-600 km orbits.

“Isa Zarepour” also emphasized that the people of Iran will soon witness the stabilization of the technology of injecting satellites into the Leo layer (near-Earth orbit) and then providing services to other countries. Quoting Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, he announced that the fruits of the technologies used in the aerospace industry should have a positive impact on the people. In the end, he said that we can use the data and information of the aerospace industry in other basic areas of the country. For example, data and information from the aerospace industry can be effective for the agricultural and mining industries.
