Minister of Communications: We do not welcome the iPhone 14 import ban

“Isa Zarepour”, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, announced that the ministry does not welcome the ban on the import of iPhone 14, and the issue of banning the import of the iPhone should be asked of the Minister of Security.

“Isa Zarepour”, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, appeared in front of the journalists and answered their questions on the sidelines of the meeting of the government board on Wednesday. One of the journalists’ questions was about the ban on importing iPhone 14 to Iran. “Zarepour” replied that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology does not welcome the ban on the import of the iPhone 14 model. He emphasized that the issue of banning the import of iPhones should be asked from the Minister of Security.

He further stated that the limitation of mobile phones can cause problems for people. The Ministry of Security did not inform about the ban on the import of iPhones in a timely manner. This ministry should provide a clear reason for its action. “Zarepour” also pointed out that the Ministry of Communications has nothing to do with the field of phone and electronic product order registration. He emphasized that Iran should turn to the production of native and domestic phones. Currently, three to four billion dollars are spent on importing mobile phones.

Zarepour: More than 35 million Iranian users use native messengers!

In the continuation of his speech, “Isa Zarepour” mentioned the acceptance of Iranian users from domestic platforms. He announced that the amount of use of internal platforms by users has increased. Currently, more than 35 million Iranians use native platforms. “Zarepour” gave the example of “Ita” messenger which currently has 21 million active users and “Yes” application managed to attract 14-15 million active users last month. “Rubika” also reached the record of 38 million active users this month.

“Zarepour” reiterated that the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology is doing all its efforts to provide better services in domestic messengers. The Minister of Communications announced that special platforms for the business sector are being developed. He confidently said that the problem of goods-oriented businesses has been completely resolved with the increase in the income index of the Post Company in recent months.
