At CES 2022, HP unveiled the new Elitebook laptops, which is a redesigned version of the Elitebook 805 and will soon be available with AMD’s Raizen Pro 6000 processors and a 16:10 aspect ratio display. In addition, the new Elitebook 605 series has been unveiled, which uses more common specifications.
The new generation of HP Elite Book laptops
New version of Elitebook 805 laptops in three options 835, 845 and 865 Supplied The middle number refers to the size of the laptop screen. So the 835 has a 13.3-inch display, the 845 has a 14-inch display and the 865 has a 16-inch display, which is a new option for this series.
However, all of these options are almost identical in specifications and there are only a few minor points about their changes. For example, only the 13-inch model will be available with up to 16GB of DDR5 RAM, while other options support up to 64GB of RAM. Also, according to HP, larger laptops have “accessible / expandable” memory slots, and the 835 will not have these slots.
Another important point is that HP has explained that the laptops will use the latest AMD Raizun multi-core processors, but no details have been provided about them, and we only know that they will be equipped with the Raizen Pro 6000 series. AMD processors have just been introduced, so it will probably take some time to figure out the exact details about the processor of the new version of the Elitebook 805 laptops.
However, common features of these devices include support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and SSD PCIe Gen4x4 technologies. Ports on the device also look good, including two USB-A 3.1 G1 ports, two USB4 Type-C ports, an HDM 2.0 port, a headphone / microphone jack, and a nano SIM card slot.
Although we explained that the screens of these laptops support a 16:10 aspect ratio, they seem to offer a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. While this resolution will be suitable for the 13-inch version, it will not be significant for larger screens, including the 16-inch version of these laptops in 2022.
In the battery sector, depending on the size of laptops, 38, 51 or 76 watt-hour batteries are used, but according to HP, the presence of new consultant chips will “increase battery life” and “improve the performance” of the devices.
Two new HP laptops with Raizen 5000 processor
The American company has also unveiled two other laptops called Elitebook 645 and 655 as 605 series, which use 14 or 15.6-inch screens with 16: 9 aspect ratio. In addition, the series uses older Raizen 5000 processors, which, of course, still offer acceptable performance. Both models support up to 64 GB of DDR 4 RAM and can be configured with an additional SSD.
Finally, the 605 Series laptops will go on sale in late January and the 805 Series in April. Their prices will also be announced close to the release date.
