Details of the new Google Calendar bug
As reported by 9to5Google (which reported the news earlier today), it looks like all kinds of emails, including delivery notifications, purchase receipts, and newsletters, will show up as calendar events throughout your current day. Some Verge employees who use the Google Calendar app have also encountered this problem. One author (whose calendar is shown below) described his problem by posting this image.

If you’re experiencing this problem and want it to stop, the easiest solution by far is to go to your Google Calendar settings and turn off “Show events from Gmail.” In general, this is also a good idea if you want to keep spam invitations out of your calendar.
