Now Wireless traffic light with the help of artificial intelligence makes the passage of pedestrians safer

A British company called Now Wireless has recently unveiled intelligent traffic lights that make pedestrian crossings safer and easier than before. These lights are equipped with the latest available technologies such as camera, artificial intelligence and machine learning and choose the color displayed depending on several factors.

Now Wireless smart lights make decisions based on data from various cameras and sensors. These cameras and sensors are capable of detecting pedestrians up to 15 meters away. When these cameras detect that pedestrians are approaching, a signal is sent to the AI-based system. In the next step, it is the turn of the machine learning system to guess the intention of people approaching the intersection.

If existing algorithms conclude that a large number of people in the area want to cross the street, the main system can turn the lights green for them by considering a set of predefined rules. These rules can be customized depending on the needs of local authorities or traffic management officials.

In an official statement, Now Wireless referred to a parameter such as the number of people waiting to cross the street, adding that if the smart system detects them too much, it will minimize the red time

Interestingly, the installation of the innovative Now Wireless system does not require digging or doing other similar things and can be easily installed on existing traffic lights. All you have to do is mount the relevant modules on the lights on site.

Another important issue is that this system is independent of any human factor and its operation does not require pressing a button or a hand call. Therefore, in the present corona, its use does not increase the risk of spreading the virus!
