Tiwan Company, which is a subsidiary of Bahman Automotive Group, was established with the aim of developing automotive powertrains, and in the post-Borjam era, was able to obtain a technical advantage in the production of Euro 6 low-consumption engines in Iran by concluding a cooperation agreement with Austrian AVL. These engines are supposed to be in new Saipa cars such as Shahin and Arya Also be used.
It’s been a long time News of the preparation of the production line of Tiwan engines It was heard that, finally, on Thursday, April 19, 1400, with the virtual presence of the President and a number of government officials, this private company officially began the production of its new engines.
According to the horsepower, the family of low-consumption engines of Tiwan includes three 3-cylinder engines and several examples of 4-cylinder engines. This family of engines is designed to be usable for all car classes. The production capacity of these engines is in the range of 75 to 143 horsepower and their torque is in the range of 105 to 220 Nm. For example, the Tiwan 75 hp engine with 105 Nm of torque seems to be suitable for a Class A car.
As another example, the 120-horsepower Tiwan engine with 175 Nm of torque is used in Class C cars such as Saipa Shahin and Eco Tara.
The third proprietary engine of the Tiwan is a 143-horsepower engine that produces 220 Nm of torque and is more useful for crossovers. Maybe in Saipa Aria and Iran Khodro’s first crossover or K125, we will see the use of this engine.
According to the horsepower, the whole production process of these engines, such as casting and machining of main parts such as blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, etc., is done by Iranian companies. Previously, production of Tiwan engines was to begin with 65% localization in the first year. Fortunately, more investment in the self-sufficiency of domestic component makers has led to an 85% increase in the internalization of these engines.
The key components of the propulsion are produced by the knowledge-based headling of Raizan Pars. Electronic components and EMS are also supplied by a group of cruise companies. Finally, plastic parts and fueling system and catalyst will be produced by Rizko Heading.
The current production capacity in Taiwan is 500,000 engines per year, which will fully meet the current needs of domestic automakers. But if the automakers’ production increases, Tiwan can also increase its production to 1 million units per year. It is worth mentioning that Tiwan production lines are the most modern and advanced lines of the country’s automobile industry, which can produce 10 engines in each shift.
According to officials, the operation of this national macro-plan will allow new engines with a consumption of about 5 liters per 100 kilometers on various domestic cars. In order to maintain the process of innovation and development in this company, Tiwan, in cooperation with the University of Tehran and the Vice President for Science and Technology, has established the first national laboratory of electric, hybrid and combustion propulsion forces for light and heavy vehicles.
The factory of Tiwan Company is currently located in Caspian Industrial Town of Qazvin. For this factory, a land with an area of 8 hectares has been allocated and the infrastructure of the factory reaches 50,000 square meters. With the opening of this modern and large factory, 600 people will be employed directly and 4,000 people will be indirectly employed.
According to Mojtaba Mir Soheil, CEO of Tiwan Motivational Forces, in addition to producing 20,000 propulsion units for Bahman Motor products, which is scheduled for 1400, Saipa Company is also one of the main customers of Tiwan engines, and this year the process of adapting these engines to SP100 platform cars (Shahin and Aria).
Mir Soheil announced the production of 75,000 engines in 1401, most of which will be delivered to Saipa Group.
