PUBG: Battlegrounds, or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which is the most well-known battle royale game, is now available on the Epic Games store. While this free-to-play battle royale game is already available to play on almost every platform known to man, this is the first time it’s been available for PC outside of Steam.
Expanding the range of players using various platforms
to report eurogamer The title’s publisher, Krafton, says:
“From early access to free-to-play, PUBG: Battlegrounds has always encouraged all types of players from diverse gaming backgrounds to try their hand at securing the iconic winner’s chicken dinner across PC and console platforms.”
Now, with the addition of PUBG: Battlegrounds on Epic Games, Krafton adds another way to connect and group more players. Those who play through the Epic Games Store will find services similar to those found on Steam. In addition, players from both platforms can play together through cross-play.
Krafton is a South Korean company behind PUBG: Battlegrounds. They recently announced that they are also acquiring The Ascent developer Neon Giant. Krafton made the announcement in its most recent earnings report, saying the acquisition is part of an ongoing investment in “development and service capabilities.” [که] It will ensure a steady pipeline of top titles.”
Although Neon Giant has only one title to its name so far, a cyberpunk action-RPG, the Swedish studio is founded by industry veterans with credits such as Doom, Wolfenstein, Gears of War, and Far Cry 3. At
