Redmi CEO Le Vibing recently posted on Weibo announced The company will equip more phones with 108-megapixel camera this year. Weibing also noted that companies that advertised the ToF camera no longer use it in their products.
Unlike many other companies, Xiaomi and Redmi did not use the ToF camera in their phones, which is why Weibbing has reacted to its removal from competing products.
The senior official also mentioned that more phones with 100-megapixel camera will be available this year. So this year, in addition to products from different brands, Redmi also wants to offer its phones with a 108-megapixel camera.
The Redmi K40 series phones will be available in the coming weeks, although their camera specifications have not been revealed yet. However, according to Weibing’s recent statement, at least one of the models in this series is expected to be equipped with a 108-megapixel camera.
The company will unveil many products this year, including the brand’s first mobile gaming, as well as the Redmi Note 10 series phones. There is a possibility of using a 108 megapixel main camera in each of these products.
The brand’s budget handsets will likely be equipped with Samsung’s ISOCELL HM2 camera sensor, and more expensive products will use Korea’s ISOCELL HM3 camera. This advanced camera is used in the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
