As previously promised, Renault officially unveiled its new Renault strategy on January 14th. Based on this strategy, Renault, while reviewing the structure of its subsidiary brands, will focus more than ever on the supply of electric models and will launch its new products with electric propulsion. Along with this, the French carmaker intends to revive some of its old but popular models with green engines. The popular Renault 5 hatchback is one of the models whose prototype new generation was unveiled at the launch.
The Renault 5 prototype was designed under the supervision of Gilles Vidal, who recently moved to Renault from the Peugeot Citroën Group. This car is clearly rooted in its glorious past – especially the second generation – and can be described as simple but attractive. According to Mr. Vidal, the Renault 5 prototype is in fact the same model of the previous generation that has been modernized and is now compatible with the factors of the day due to features such as adaptation to urban life, use of electric propulsion and attractive appearance.
Like the old Renault 5, the new prototype has simple body panels and different parts are angled. In other words, the first Renault 5 comes to mind at first glance at this prototype.
One of the interesting features inherited from the old Renault 5 is the fan on the hood. Of course, since the new prototype is equipped with electric propulsion, this part is basically the host of the battery charging port. Apart from these, the dim lights have been transferred to the prototype model, with the difference that they now play the role of daylight lights.

Renault 5 Electric is one of the 14 new models that the French company will offer based on the Renovation strategy until 2025. Of these 14 models, 7 will be produced with all-electric propulsion. It should be noted that if everything goes according to plan, Renault 5 electric will be sold in 2023.
It is worth mentioning that based on the Renovation strategy, Renault will turn Alpine into an all-electric brand, and the two economic brands Dacia and Lada will continue to operate as a single business subsidiary.
