Chinese automaker Geely, which is going through a tumultuous period, has announced the creation of a luxury brand to enter the luxury electric car market. This brand is named Zeekr and its products will be sold in international markets in addition to the domestic market.
At the moment, very little information has been published about the Zicker brand and the models that are going to hit the market with its logo; However, we know that the first car of this high-end brand will be unveiled in the third quarter of this year. In addition, Zicker plans to add a new electric vehicle to its product line every year for the next 5 years.
Zicker will initially focus on the domestic market in China, but in the next phase, in response to the growing global demand for premium electric models, it will launch its products in other markets as well.
Zicker products will use the Sustainable Experience Architecture platform. This platform has a very flexible structure and it is possible to design and produce different models in Class A to Class E based on it. The platform is also compatible with rear-axle, front-axle and both-axle transmission systems.
As Geely points out, Zicker products will benefit from battery technology, energy management systems, engine technology and proprietary electrical supply chains. It is likely that this decision was made to distinguish between the luxury models of the Zicker brand and other ordinary Geely models.
Aside from proprietary technologies, the promised Zicker models will also be unrivaled in terms of comfort and performance. Also, all cars that have the logo of this brand on them will be equipped with the possibility of remote updating and will receive new capabilities over time.
Not to mention that Geely has already established the all-electric Geometry brand in April 2019. The brand focuses on the domestic market, and the Chinese want to develop ten electric models under its logo by 2025.
