Recently, the Kopite7kimi Twitter page, which is considered one of the most reliable internal sources of Nvidia, has announced the basic specifications of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card and its AD106 graphics processor.
Before we get into the announced specs, let’s point out that Kopite’s information is accurate and factual, but not necessarily “final.” Nvidia is definitely working on the RTX 4060 Ti graphics card and has also discussed its initial specifications with board partners, but there is no guarantee that these specifications will not change until the last minute and the official introduction of this graphics card. Remember how Nvidia decided to rename the RTX 4080 12GB graphics card to RTX 4070 Ti even after it was officially announced.
Basic specifications of the RTX 4060 Ti
According to published information, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card is going to be equipped with AD106-350 processor with 4352 CUDA cores. In addition, this graphics card will be equipped with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory with a speed of 18 Gbps. With this account, this graphics card is considered the first model of the RTX 40 series that is equipped with G6 memory and not G6X. It was previously announced that this card is going to have a 128-bit memory interface, so its memory bandwidth reaches 288 GB/s.
Regarding energy consumption, it has been said that this graphics card is supposed to have a thermal power of 220 watts, which is 50 watts less than the RTX 4070 graphics card. The interesting thing is that, according to Kopite, the reference range of the RTX 4060 Ti graphics card is very short. Even shorter than the board of the RTX 4070. More importantly, Nvidia still plans to use the new 12VHPWR port for this 220W graphics card. With this account, not only flagship cards, but all RTX 40 Ada family cards will be equipped with a 16-pin port.
Nvidia is going to introduce RTX 40 graphics cards for laptops during the CES 2023 event. With this in mind, the AD104 and AD106 graphics processors should be ready by then and can be used for new desktop graphics cards. But there is still no official schedule for the official introduction of the remaining Lovelace desktop graphics cards.
