The Wolverine has always been a strange and different car among Hyundai products. It has been almost a decade since this different hatchback with three and a half doors entered the market. However, the popularity of the Wolverine has declined sharply since 2016, when the wave of crossovers and long-wheelbase purchases spread. Evidence shows that Hyundai is looking to remove this product from its product portfolio. In fact, new reports suggest that Hyundai is no longer motivated to continue producing the Wolverine.
According to media reports, as of April 1, 2021, Hyundai has not considered any incentive plan to buy a chandelier. No installment sales, no discounts and no other special incentives.
In fact, according to local media, there is no incentive to buy a standard Wolverine device in the US market. The few models available are also N-Line versions, and of course Hyundai still offers a variety of incentives to purchase these models.
The Cars Direct website asked Hyundai about the future fate of the Wolverine, and unfortunately the Korean automaker did not provide a definite answer. According to Hyundai, the Wolverine is now available in standard, turbo and N models, both at the company’s dealerships and in the open market.
The corona virus pandemic made last year a difficult year for the automotive industry. While the sales of Wolverine in 2019 had increased from 12,849 units to 7,581 units, which showed a decrease of about 50%. This is a drop in the ocean for the automaker, which sold 622,269 vehicles in the United States in 2020 alone.
Hatchbacks have always been at war in the US market. However, their market has been very limited in recent years. Ford has stopped production of the Fiesta and Focus. Volkswagen has also decided to export only sports golf versions such as the GTI and R to the country.
Therefore, it can be predicted that Hyundai, along with other companies, will only send sportier versions of the Wolverine to the United States, and we will probably see the gradual death of the standard version of this particular hatchback in the near future.
