US plans to generate 30 gigawatts of wind power by 2030

Global warming and the climate change crisis have led governments to invest heavily in renewable energy, and now the Biden administration in the United States is looking to launch offshore wind farm projects to generate 30,000 megawatts of energy by 2030.

According to New programsThe US government wants to take action to speed up the construction of these power plants and is investing $ 230 million in each port that supports these projects. The Biden government can provide up to $ 3 billion in funding for such plants through the Innovative Energy Loan Guarantee.

According to the White House, 30 gigawatts could power 10 million homes and also prevent the addition of 78 million tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. In addition to the environmental benefits, the program could create 44,000 jobs, which is only for wind farms. In addition to this number, another 33,000 jobs will be created to support these power plants.

The Biden government wants to eliminate carbon from the US grid by 2035. To achieve 90% of this goal, it must generate 70,000 megawatts of energy per year through solar and wind energy. This is challenging, but not impossible, and the US government can achieve its goal by 2035 by increasing investment in these sectors.

The United States is not the only country that is increasing investment in clean energy. South Korea, for example, wants to build the world’s largest offshore wind farm with a $ 43 billion investment. Britain is also looking to fully supply wind energy by 2030. Last year, more than half of Britain’s electricity was supplied by wind for the first time. Meanwhile, engineers in different countries are looking for new designs for wind turbines to increase productivity and reduce costs.
