Earlier, images of the Volkswagen ID 6 were unofficially released, and rumors have been circulating ever since the launch of an electric chassis for the Chinese market. Now it seems that all these rumors have come true and Volkswagen will launch its third all-electric product from the ID family. This new crossover called ID 6 is going to be available only in the Chinese market.
Currently, all three ID series products are based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform.
Volkswagen will produce the ID 6 in two different models. The first model will be with the Joint Venture Psych, which will produce a coupe-like model called the ID 6 Corzz, and the next model will be the Joint Venture Faw called the ID 6 X.
In terms of propulsion, both models are similar and it is possible to choose a battery pack with a capacity of 58kWh and 77kWh. The range of motion is 436 and 587 km, respectively.
The base model uses an electric motor on the rear axle that is capable of producing 177 to 201 horsepower. The model equipped with 2 electric motors is capable of producing 301 horsepower.
It only takes 6.6 seconds to reach 100 km / h and the top speed is 160 km / h.
With a length of 4876mm, it is about 300mm longer than the ID 4 model. The distance between the two axes is equal to 2965mm and its height is equal to 1680mm. The ID 6 weighs in at 2280kg and can range from 19 to 21 inches.
There is also a third row of chairs for this product. All-panoramic glass roof is also standard on this model and you have to pay extra to use the sunroof mode.
China is currently Volkswagen’s largest market, and this includes electric vehicles. As a result, Volkswagen plans to launch eight models of the ID product series in China.
